One of my guilty pleasures when it comes to the food scene is trying out Indian restaurants that people can’t stop talking about. There is something about experiencing dishes, that have been a part of your whole life, being innovated while still maintaining the actual essence and flavour of the dish. There are many who try but a few who can successfully say that they managed to achieve the balance. But I did come across a successful one on my recent trip to the City of Angels, LA!Before my trip to LA I had quite a few people recommend that I visit this lovely Indian restaurant called Spice Affair which was located in Beverly Hills, LA. The fact that so many people said it was a must piqued my interest. So when I got to LA, the first thing I did was make a reservation… I had to see what the hype was all about!Let me tell you…their claim of being the best Indian restaurant in LA is TRUE!Their menu is a beautiful blend of traditional Indian dishes as well as Indian dishes with a more modern twist. The food there is designed to satiate every palate. Varying degrees of spice, succulently crafted dishes and vegetarian options that can sometimes put the meat dishes to shame….spice affair has it all. The food is further enhanced by the cozy yet elegant ambience they have managed to create. Every dish presented to us was a delight to all the senses. The presentation, the aroma, the flavour and the texture, crafted to perfection to create a heavenly foodie experience. So I now find myself among the hordes of people who say, “ when in LA, you MUST try Spice Affair!”. Believe me, they do not disappoint! ... See MoreSee Less

A child’s heart is a precious thing they say. But to literally be in charge of them day in and day out…now that is a calling only left to a precious few.Andrew Glatz is one such phenomenal person. A cardiologist at a children’s hospital, Andrew reached out to us on one of the few precious days when he is not saving lives. He wanted to host a small dinner for a few of his friends and we were all too eager to comply. We found ourselves in a beautiful house with Andrew’s picture perfect family surrounded by a group of amazing people. For this close gathering we decided to keep the menu simple yet elegant. Our gorgeous menu was made up of; * Wagyu Carpaccio With Arugula, Capers And Sea Salt * Arancini With Tomato Cream Sauce With Parmesan * Lobster Bisque * Filet Mignon With Asparagus, Truffle Potato And Glazed Carrots* Tiramisu With Berry Coulis We spent a beautiful evening with these amazing people who thoroughly enjoyed everything we dished out. Thank you for having us Andrew and hats off to the work you do. A big thank you to my teammate Edina for helping out💫And thank you @takeachef for creating this wonderful opportunity! ... The end of a great vacation always leaves me reminiscing a bit. Not just about the beautiful memories and amazing food but also the learnings and knowledge that can only be acquired when you travel. London was an absolute treat and also took me a bit by surprise! Whenever people discuss London, a greasy serving of fish and chips is all that comes to mind, doesn’t it? But I discovered that it holds way more than just that. People who live there and restaurants that cater to them are really big on healthy eating. Unlike us, where big portions are the norm, they are big believers in portion control. And rightly so, the quality of ingredients available along with their unquestionable freshness puts our produce to shame. Farmer market’s are big and the amount of options available when it comes to locally sourced ingredients are astounding! I do admit that looking at all this made me a tad bit jealous of the people who have access to this on a daily basis.Added to this is the fact that London is such a walkable city. Walking around and taking in the sight is such a leisure here. The city has numerous pedestrian zones, where traffic is restricted, and you can pace yourself without the fear of being run over 😂It honestly made me wonder why we can’t do things differently in our country. We have the means and the space to make these changes…changes that will help us as well as the environment. So what’s stopping us?I, for one know, that this lil trip has changed my way of life quite a bit and even though i know it won’t be immediate…i do look forward to taking baby steps in the right direction. Thank you for the learnings, London. I promise I will be back soon. Fun fact: (Slides 8-16)The Victoria and Albert Museum in London was the first Museum in the world to serve food on the inside. Not only is that a great respite after walking around for hours but their food menu at Benugo Cafe is downright delicious with such healthy options! That’s an idea i can get behind 👏🏽..#healthyliving #healthylifestyle #health #healthyfood #fitness #healthy #healthyeating #wellness #nutrition #london #british #fitnessmotivation #motivation #selfcare ... Last night was reserved for destiny. 🍽️As a chef, I’m always in search of that rare connection between food and emotion, that feeling when everything aligns perfectly — the honesty in a menu, the purity in the dishes, and the flavors that speak to your soul. It’s tough to explain, but when it happens, you just know. And last night, I knew.I’ve had the privilege of eating at some of the world’s most renowned places, but nothing quite like this. Walking into this cozy, 50-seater fine Indian restaurant in the heart of London, Pravaas, I was instantly hooked by the choices on the menu. Every dish was spot on: from the Wasabi Chicken Tikka, Aubergine, and Sukka Maharashtrian Lamb to the Street Food Special and Scallops — each bite brought its own harmony, just like an Ilayaraja symphony playing across your senses, palate, and emotions. What’s more astonishing? The chef, Chef Shilpa Dandekar, wasn’t even present, but the kitchen team — led by Govinda and the rest — nailed it. Hot food, cold food, hot plates, cold plates — everything was flawless. Faheem even kindly gave me a tour of the kitchen, and I couldn’t help but feel deeply connected to the stories behind the dishes.A huge thank you to the super couple Chef Shilpa and Faheem, and to the entire team. This is what soul food in a fine dining format looks like with the right amount of innovation and creativity .You’ve all nailed it, and I’ll carry this memory with me — a perfect mix of honest food, love, and warmth. 🫶🏻🙏🏻Not many get this right, but you guys have. Here’s to you and to more beautiful meals like this in the future.(P.S. A picture with the famous telephone and a selfie , because why not? 😂)#HonestFood #SoulFood #FineDining #IndianCuisine #LondonEats #Gratitude #MemorableMeals #cheflife ... See MoreSee Less

A Food Lover’s Dream in London ✨🌍Over the last few days, I’ve had the joy of exploring London’s incredible food scene, and it’s been nothing short of refreshing. From the vibrant streets filled with architectural wonders to the diverse mix of cultures that make this city so unique, every moment has been a new discovery. 🌿💫I’ve indulged in everything – from the rich, spicy flavors of Chettinad 🇮🇳 to the delicate artistry of Cantonese dim sum 🍜, the soul-warming comforts of Sri Lankan cuisine 🇱🇰, the rustic elegance of Italian dishes 🇮🇹, and global fusion plates that made me feel like I’ve tasted the world 🌎. Each meal has been a reflection of the city’s incredible diversity and its fusion of tradition with modernity. One of the most remarkable aspects of my journey has been the healthy options that London has to offer. Whether it’s vibrant salads packed with fresh ingredients or hearty bowls of nutrient-rich goodness, every meal is a step towards wellness. The cafes here have been equally stunning, offering spaces to sit and savor the food, with menus designed to nourish both body and soul. 🥗☕It’s been so inspiring to see how the city embraces not only flavor but health and sustainability. And with every walk, I’ve found myself connecting more with the stories behind the flavors – from the bustling markets to the hidden gems tucked away in cozy corners.I’ve learned that food is more than just sustenance – it’s a reflection of culture, history, and the people who shape it. The diversity of flavors in London is a testament to its rich heritage and its openness to the world.Thank you, London, for this beautiful experience. 🍴💖 #LondonEats #FoodieAdventures #HealthyLiving #CulturalJourney #WellnessAndFlavor #FoodieStories #Wanderlust #LondonLove ... Nestled at Mayfair's iconic Mount Street is this beautiful Michelin starred restaurant called Jamavar. Drawing its inspiration from the Viceroy’s House in New Delhi, this place is a feast for the senses as soon as you enter. I kid you not when i say that just stepping into this ‘highly in demand Indian restaurant' makes you feel regal. With my friends, Sheetal and Satej Jaywant, we decided to explore this much talked about restaurant. The food here is an encapsulation of different cuisines from all around India, especially the north, which in the capable hands of Chef Surendra Mohan, have transformed to become a heavenly experience for the taste buds. The menu by itself is so varied that it leaves you spoiled for choice. The flavour of every dish with their delicate blend of smoke and spices will leave you salivating and the presentation is so beautiful that you are almost hesitant to touch such perfection. After a lot of deep thought and discussions, we did finally manage to pick a few that we knew we couldn't leave without tasting!Every dish was like consuming a memory itself and every bite left you wanting for more. And although i was really disappointed in not being able to try every single dish on the menu, i was content with the fact that Jamavar was leaving me room to explore more of their brilliant creations the next time I am in London. What a wonderful experience it was! Thank you for letting us experience the making of your culinary magic, Chef Surendra Mohan! Until next time🥂 ... See MoreSee Less

London, what a whirlwind of wonder! From the ancient Tower of London to the rhythm of the Underground, this city has been a blend of history, vibrancy, and culinary delights. Borough Market’s fresh produce & rich cheeses were a chef’s dream, while the crispy, golden fish and chips were an absolute must.Discovering Dalton Curve Garden – a cozy, community space where pets and people gather – led me to meet @rebeccahendin a creative illustrator who gifted a culinary experience to her parents. Conversations flowed like old friends, reminding me how small the world really is.Reuniting with the maestro, Raja sir, and his son Karthik after months, seeking his blessings and wishing him for his new symphony .I gifted a Kalimba, an African instrument, to mark a beautiful moment. London, with its layers of flavor, history, and connection, will always have a special place in my heart. #LondonAdventures #ChefLife #FoodStoryteller #BoroughMarket #DaltonCurveGarden #CulinaryJourney #GratefulHeart ...
