You know, no matter how many years i have spent cooking or will be spending cooking…for some reason whenever i find out that a client is a great cook themselves, my heart does a lil ‘ badam boom bam’ just for a second.😁 The anticipation of being able to share my dishes with someone who understands is always a source of excitement for me. My fervent hope is that this feeling never fades. Victoria Lenhart reached out to us to plan a lovely meal for her husband’s birthday. We were ‘warned’ that her husband himself was a pretty good cook so our menu would have to be the same!😄 So we put on our thinking caps and tried to fu=igure what would appeal to a man who understands ingredients, flavour and spice?And that my friends is how we landed up creating a ‘Louisiana themed birthday menu’!On the table for that special day, we had;* Cajun Shrimp Remoulade: Succulent shrimp seasoned with Cajun spices, served with a tangy remoulade sauce.* Shrimp and Andouille Sausage Gumbo: A rich and hearty gumbo featuring shrimp, andouille sausage, okra, and traditional Creole spices.* Jamaican Pepper Pot Soup: A spicy and flavorful soup made with callaloo, okra, peppered beef, and Caribbean spices, offering a taste of Jamaican cuisine.* Blackened Red Snapper with Plantain Puree: Red snapper fillets blackened with Cajun spices, served on a bed of plantain puree, capturing the essence of both cuisines.* Bananas Foster Cheesecake Creamy cheesecake topped with caramelised bananas and a decadent rum-infused sauce : Inspired by the classic New Orleans dessert.The fact that he loved everything we cooked up for him was a high reward. You know, sometimes I think people give Vegan dishes a bad name for no reason. The amount of potential it holds in ingredients and flavour is quite vast. And it is quite honestly something I quite like cooking. I recently had the opportunity to bring to life its potential for a very special occasion. Sirini Pinn, a very successful Medical professional, wanted to throw a lovely meal for her friend, Meghan. Megan as it turns out, is this stunning individual who is also a medical great professional( like attracts like, I guess!)😉Srini was very specific about the fact that she wanted this to be the most special thing she could do for her friend and so we made sure to pull all of the strings that we could possibly pull to make this happen. The one clause? Almost the entire menu had to be Vegan! (Modification were made of course to depending on the other guests taste) Once we got there , we were welcomed into their gorgeous home and we were introduced to their lovely family and friends. They were such lovely people that for a moment we almost forgot why we were there.😆 We were then shown to the kitchen where we were given absolute free reign!What came of it was a beautiful menu that made all the guest drool!😎* Avocado bhel tartare ( avocado, pico, puffed rice, spicy sauces, yoghurt drizzle)* Jackfruit cutlets with gold leaves and micro greens and truffle sauce* Arroz tikki with chimichurri sauce* Roasted butternut squash and apple bisque with maple glaze, a smooth and comforting bisque featuring the sweetness of roasted butternut squash and apples, finished with a drizzle of maple glaze.* Bottled biryani with mint raita , crips, naan* Linguine , vegan bolognese, truffle shaves* Pistachio crusted lamb loin n g braised lamb loin with a crust of pistachio served with q'neel of mashed sweet potato and seasonal sautéed vegetables* Moroccan rice pudding with raisins, almond and pistachio dust* French lavender crème brûlée with coconut crèmeThey absolutely loved it and their smiles during and after the meal made us so happy!Thank you for having us Srini and Meghan!🥂 And thank you rasmy & emilee for always making it so seamless!

Picture this: Centuries ago, monks and nuns had a laundry day routine that left them with a treasure trove of egg yolks after starching their clothes with egg whites. What did they do? Bake up a storm, of course!
